The Malcontents: Craig, 2020
Acrylic on card stock
Series of 6
12 x 12 in.

This is Craig. Craig is really tired. But Craig is MOST tired of everybody arguing. He’s witnessed too much hate in his lifetime and truly believed society was evolving. But in light of recent tragedies it’s clear we’re going backwards. Craig doesn’t need you to be black to care. He doesn’t need you to be white to be a problem. He desperately wants human beings to find their humanity and cling to it. In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless mindset of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality... I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.”
