The Malcontents: Vincent, 2020
Acrylic on card stock
Series of 6
12 x 12 in.

Vincent is a barber.
He was one of the first hit by unemployment due to the pandemic and one of the ones hit the hardest.
He couldn’t bear a financial dive like this right now.
His kids were depending on him.
Unemployment numbers are not only staggering; they are at the highest rates our economy and economies all over the world have ever seen.
Too many people will take years to recover from the devastation it’s caused, and some never will.
Before you throw emotionally bullying slurs at people like “lazy” or “charity case”, step off of that high horse long enough to realize none of us asked for this.
We can rebuild.
We just need to make sure that what we’re building has value...leave the judgment behind.
