Kathleen Day-Gomez

Blanc Noir: Conflicted, 2020
Graphite and charcoal on Dalton White Visualizing Layout Paper
Series of 4
9 x 12 in.

This is one of the very few pieces where I attempted to convey what my autism feels like. Dyslexia, ADHD, social overwhelm, overstimulation, and compulsive creativity are met by walls of mental exhaustion. Keeping that serene, smiling face in an attempt to mask the chaos just below the surface. “I’m ok…I’m not ok.”
